Grilled Bianco Italian Sausage and Apple Skewers with Maple Dijon Glaze

Grilled Bianco Italian Sausage and Apple Skewers with Maple Dijon Glaze

Bring bold fall flavors to the grill with these apple and sausage skewers drizzled in a sweet and tangy maple Dijon glaze. Juicy chunks of Bianco & Sons Italian sausage pair perfectly with crisp apples, peppers, and onions for a colorful skewer that’s ideal for game day, tailgates, or cozy autumn dinners.

Serves 4–6 | Makes ~8 skewers

Ingredients

For the Skewers:

  • 4 Bianco & Sons Italian sausages (Sweet or Hot)

  • 2 Honeycrisp or Fuji apples, cut into 1 ½” chunks

  • 1 large onion, cut into 1 ½” wedges

  • 1 green bell pepper, cut into 1 ½” pieces

  • 1 yellow bell pepper, cut into 1 ½” pieces

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 tsp kosher salt

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • ½ tsp dried thyme (or 1 tsp fresh)

For the Maple Dijon Glaze:

  • ¼ cup maple syrup

  • 2 tbsp honey Dijon mustard

  • 1 tbsp whole grain mustard

  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar

  • 1 clove garlic, minced

  • 1 tsp fresh rosemary, chopped (optional)

Directions

1. Grill the Sausages
Preheat grill to medium (350°F). Grill sausages whole for 10–12 minutes, turning until almost cooked through (about 140°F). Rest 3–5 minutes, then slice into 1 ½” chunks.

2. Prep the Veggies
Toss apples, onion, and peppers with olive oil, salt, pepper, and thyme.

3. Assemble the Skewers
Alternate sausage, apples, onion, and peppers on skewers.

4. Make the Glaze
In a small saucepan, simmer maple syrup, mustards, vinegar, garlic, and rosemary for 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.

5. Finish on the Grill
Increase heat to medium-high (375–400°F). Grill skewers 5–7 minutes, turning and brushing with glaze, until sausages reach 165°F and apples are lightly charred.

6. Serve
Drizzle with extra glaze and top with fresh herbs, if desired.
